Brief Instruction of Clinical Medical Education

Our hospital is the earliest affiliated hospital of university in Northwest China, which is engaged in modern higher clinical medicine education. In the past 80 years, the development of modern higher clinical medicine education has formed a teaching system with clear objectives, scientific management, thorough teaching quality and evaluation mechanism. We have established a brand of clinical teaching with post competency as the guide, students as the main body, inquiry-based teaching as the carrier, medical ethics and clinical skills as the main line, and trained tens of thousands of senior medical personnel. We are responsible for teaching task execution and whole course management of the two majors of clinical medicine and stomatology, the three levels of clinical medicine five-year, ‘5+3'integration, Hou Zonglian medical experimental class and multi-level students of undergraduate, graduate, international students, general practitioners and standardized training students. we undertake clinical courses about 39 times a year and 2200 class hours. At present, there are 17 departments and 1 teaching and research department in clinical medicine education in our hospital. All disciplines of clinical medicine with doctoral and master's degrees are in full coverage. It has 7 national, provincial and school-level excellent courses; 776 full-time teachers, including 41.80% with senior titles, 80.02% with doctoral and master's degrees. 70 doctoral supervisors, 163 master's supervisors. 4 teachers won the school-level teaching master's prize. More than 10 teachers won the prizes of“Wang Kuancheng Educational Talent Award”, “Bao Gang Award”, and“advanced individuals of educators”. One person was elected as a member of the Steering Committee of Clinical Medicine Specialty of the Ministry of Education. 59 textbooks were published by the People's Health Publishing House, among which 6 excellent textbooks. The staff and workers of our institute published 6 books as the chief editor and 15 books as the deputy chief editor. More than 20 audio-visual textbooks constructed by our hospital were published by the People's Health Publishing House. Our hospital is now the national "Resident Standardization Training Base", Shaanxi Province "Postgraduate Demonstration Joint Training Base" and "Shaanxi Province Teachers' Moral Construction Advanced Collective". It has won 7 national and provincial teaching awards for advanced collectives; and won the second prize of the Fourth National College Students' Clinical Skills Final. The teaching achievement awards include 4 provincial teaching achievement awards and 11 school-level teaching achievement awards (including 2 top prizes). Undertake teaching reform projects including: 1 project of the National Medical Examination Center, 8 teaching reform projects in Shaanxi Province and above, 37 school-level and 130 college-level. In the past 4 years, 212 teaching papers have been published. Teaching contest awards include: 1 second prize in the National Competition of Basic Teaching Skills for Young Teachers in Medical Colleges and Universities, 2 first prizes in the Competition of Basic Teaching Skills for Young Teachers in Northwest Medical(pharmaceuticals) Universities, 1 first prize in the Second Competition of Young Teachers in the Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and 117 prizes in the Competition of Teaching Skills at School Level (20 of the first prize); 13 national, provincial and school micro-class competitions awards.
