Editorial Department of Dermatology

The Editorial Department of Dermatology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (the department ) founded in 1984 has been responsible for two dermatologic journals: The Chinese Journal of Dermatovenereology (CJDV 1987) and Dermatology Bulletin (DB 1984). Both are sponsored by Xi’an Jiaotong University and supervised by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

The department has won a number of awards entitled “Excellent Editorial Department” since it was founded. The two journals have also won the “Excellent Journal” prize. The editorial department advocates to the ideas of scientificity, utility, and novelty and strives to combine theory with practice under the strategy of all round opening. Through strict paper assessing and reviewing, the editorial department dedicates to serve the scientific and medical communities.

The department has witnessed a series of improvement concerning the quality, scientific influence, and impact factor of the journals due to its optimized managing system. For this reason, The Chinese Journal of Dermatovenereology as a monthly published journal has become the top journal in the field of dermatology in China. Meantime, CJDV has been internationally indexed in the core databases, including American Chemical Abstracts (CA) and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory of the United States, Index of Copernicus (IC) of Poland, and Centre Agriculture Bioscience International (CABI) of the United Kingdom. Following the trend of medical academia, Dermatology Bulletin renewed its format in 2015. The new version uniquely focuses on one single specialized disease in one issue while the old version just functioned to report. The change has been a great hit. The change has successfully guide the research direction as well as topic selection.

In order to maintain its pioneering edges and continuously expand its influence, the editorial department has always paid a special attention to the cultivation of the professional ability of the editors and the construction of the talent team. All the members in the editorial board have solid background of medical education and have rather rich editing experiences, which definitely safeguard the quality and integrity of the published articles. The department uses pioneering technologies, innovative formats and first-class editing system to provide cutting-edge, timely, and easily accessible information for authors and readers.

The department takes the distinctive columns as a breaking point, strives to highlight the features of periodicals, accelerates the construction of the fine quality periodicals, and further expands the influence and upgrades its own academic status.
