Department of Radiology

The Department of Radiology is a comprehensive imaging department covering routine radiology, CT, MRI and peripheral interventional therapy. It is the authorization point of master and doctoral degree in medical imaging and nuclear medicine. By 2018, there are 75 staff in the department, including 8 professors, 8 associated professors, 3 postgraduate supervisors, 5 doctoral degree owners. All young and middle-aged doctors have a master degree or above.

Medical work

The department has more than 10 large imaging equipment, including two 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging, one 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging, two ultra high-end CT, one 64-row MDCT, 16 row MDCT, DSA, digital fluoroscopy imaging system, full digital mammography and 5 DR. The PACS system has been built in the whole hospital, and diagnostic reports and images have become complete digital transmission and self-service printed.

The department combines diagnosis and treatment, and have comprehensive technologies. The clinical application of MDCT and high-field MRI is at the leading level position in the Shaanxi, especially in the brain functional imaging, early imaging diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases, comprehensive imaging diagnosis of lung cancer, breast cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, pituitary and other tumors, peripheral interventional treatment and so on.

Teaching work

The department undertakes the teaching tasks of medical imaging for 5/8-year students in the Medical School of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the standardized training of postgraduate students and resident doctors, and the continuing education projects of medical imaging. The teaching and research section of radiology is equipped with advanced teaching and experimental facilities such as PACS teaching system, multimedia classroom and so on. It has undertaken 4 teaching reform projects of Xi'an Jiaotong University in recent years, and won the first, second and third prize in various teaching competitions at the national, provincial and school levels.

As the awarding point of PhD and master degree in medical imaging and nuclear medicine, we have trained more than 40 postgraduate students.

Scientific research work

The department has undertaken and completed a number of national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, including 3 of National Natural Science Foundation, 1 of doctoral foundation of the Ministry of Education, 1 of post-doctoral Foundation of China, more than 10 of Science and Technology Program of Shaanxi Province and 2 of Science and Technology Program of Xi'an. In recent years, the department has published nearly 100 papers, obtaining supporting funds of more than 1 million Yuan, gaining 2 patents and 4 provincial scientific progress awards, and publishing 3 professional books and translations.

International exchange

Our department has invited a number of foreign experts to the hospital for academic exchanges, and sent a number of young and middle-aged doctors to the United States and Japan to study advanced medical, scientific research ideas and methods. Many doctors have attended the North America Congress of Radiology, Europe Congress of Radiology and deliver oral presentations.
