Department of Psychological Psychiatry

The Department of Psychological Psychiatry of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University is a comprehensive center of counseling, psychotherapy, and treatment of mental illness and children behavior and mental development disorder. The department is responsible for clinical diagnosis and treatment, talent training and scientific research, as well as a cooperation center with other departments and hospitals in the field of mental illness.

There are 10 medical practitioners, including 1 doctor supervisor, 5 professors, 1 chief physician, 1 deputy chief technician, 2 attending physicians and 1 assistant researcher. Now we are recruiting talents with doctoral and master degree. We also have some cooperative researches and talent training programs with foreign countries.

Department characteristics

①Clinical diagnosis and treatment of adult emotional and behavioral disorders (e.g. depression, anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar affective disorder, Schizophrenia, etc.) and stress and adaptation disorders; ②Clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents and intervention in mental health care of children and adolescents; ③Counseling and treatment of senile mental illness and sleeping problems.

Academic achievements

Our staff have undertaken and completed many researches at national, and provincial level, including: ①Clinical and basic researches on mental disorders of children, adolescents and elders; ②Epidemiological surveys of mental and behavioral diseases in social groups; ③Clinical researches on psychotropic drugs, etc. We have published more than 50 scientific papers, and have edited or co-edited more than 10 scientific works.
