From performance of the first open heart surgery at low temperature anesthesia in 1962, the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery has gone through decades years development, developing into a department equipped with advanced medical equipment, 100-level purification operating room, interventional catheterization room and cardiac surgery intensive care unit. We offer minimally invasive surgery, interventional surgery, and common surgery for congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, valvular heart disease, coronary heart disease, cardiac tumors, cardiomyopathy and macrovascular disease, etc. We have established long-term cooperation with many domestic and international heart medical centers. Many doctors go abroad for further study and many internationally renowned professors come to our department to guide our clinical practice regularly. With the help of Beijing QuZheng Charity Foundation, nearly 100 children with congenital heart disease have received free treatment in our department. We have received 7 grants from the science foundations, including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shaanxi Natural Science Foundation and Shaanxi Key Science and Technology Program. We have published hundreds of scientific papers and educated more than 30 postgeaduates. Our main fields are artificial vascular endothelialization, stem cell transplantation in limb ischemia treatment and myocardial protection.
