Prof. Zhang has been devoted in the clinical practice, education and research work in the tumor fields for more than 30 years. She is familiar with the frontiers and development of cancer treatment as well as cancer-associated scientific research worldwide. As for clinical work, she always advocates the comprehensive, standardized, personalized therapy for every cancer patients. She has built up lots of experiences and been the leading specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of various cancer, especially breast cancer. Oncology department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University has become the largest center for breast diseases under her guidance.
Prof. Zhang has directed more than 20 national and provincial scientific research projects with funds over three million. She also participated in many national “863”, “973” core scientific projects and other major international researches. She has been leading her own cancer research team composed of more than 50 graduates and Ph.d students and published more than 50 articles, many of which were included in international journals of high level, such as Nature series. The total impact factor score is over 100. She also encourages and promotes international research cooperation with top universities abroad.
The major research directions:
1. the molecular biological mechanisms involved in oncogenesis, early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
2. Epidemic analysis of cancer associated genes and exploration novel tumor targets.
3. Construction of cancer organoid platform for personalized treatment, drug screening and cancer associated research.
4. Basic study of cancer immunology, tumor microenvironment and preclinical model of novel caner immunotherapy.
5. Effects of traditional Chinese herbal medicine on malignant tumors and its potential mechanisms.
